Do you have high-potential staff in your project but no innovation or research to present at MSF Scientific Days? No problem - send them as participants to the 2-day London conference and accompanying days of workshops and training.

MSF Scientific Days International (London) are a great opportunity not just to present or learn, but also to network, exchange and debate with peers.

In 2019, as part of our commitment to prioritise serving field staff, we launched the MSF Scientific Days Field30 programme: inviting field colleagues to join us at MSF Scientific Days International (London) and participate in a field-focused innovation workshop. 2020 will be even better!

"The workshop taught me how to look at problems and probable solutions in a more detailed manner. The steps in the innovation process were insightful."

What does this mean?

We reserve 30 places (10% of capacity) at the 2020 London events for current field staff, with places available to all OCs. Through the Field30 Programme, we will support participants by covering UK expenses and issuing letters of invitation to support timely visa applications (The UK is not in the Schengen area and so applications for UK visas may involve many weeks of planning). Flights, visas, and local transport needs to be covered by field / operations budgets.

Who should come?

Any current member of field staff can be nominated for the Field30 programme. As more than 90% of our field colleagues are national staff members, please consider this when nominating participants.

Workshops on Digital Health Promotion and Climate, Environment & Health and a 2-day training on Epidemiology and Outbreak Analytics will be available (scheduled for the same week as the London event - week commencing 11th May 2020), applicants with interest or involvement in these topics are particularly, but not exclusively, encouraged.

Applicants must have the support of their project or mission team.

What will Field30 participants get out of this?

Participants will benefit from the presentations and discussions at MSF Scientific Days International (London); development of knowledge and skills through the workshops and training sessions that they can bring back to their missions and projects, and the opportunity to build networks and collaborations with colleagues from across the movement.

"very inspiring, we learned how to think about day to day challenges in a different way... an innovative way to find solutions"
