MSF panel discussion: A day in the life (16th July 2019)
Join a panel of MSF staff as they tell their personal stories about setting up projects in remote areas, negotiating access to patients in dangerous contexts and gaining the trust of local communities.
Our name means ‘Doctors Without Borders’ but our doctors are just one piece of the puzzle. Seventy nine percent of our staff are non-medical and our teams comprise a whole host of professions.
Our logisticians make sure our projects have running water, electricity, medicine and clinics.
We rely on skilled project coordinators and heads of mission to negotiate access to people in remote areas and on all sides of a conflict.
Our health promoters gain the trust of the local community, learn about its medical needs and promote our healthcare services.
Come and learn about a typical day in the life of these and other vital members of our teams who work tirelessly to allow our doctors to get on with what they do best – providing medical care to some of the world's most neglected people.
Date: Tuesday 16th July 2019
Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Format: A panel of MSF speakers take turns to tell their stories, followed by a question and answer session
