VIDEO: No time to quit on HIV/AIDS funding

Date Published: 27/05/2010 09:52

Backtracking by international donors in HIV/AIDS funding risks undermining years of positive achievements and will cause many more unnecessary deaths, warns MSF in its latest report.

The lack of substantial commitment from donors is straining already fragile health systems.   In 2009, 2 million people died of HIV-related diseases and close to 60 percent of those in need of treatment are still not getting it. MSF calls for a renewed commitment by donors and national governments in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The HIV crisis is far from over. Together, we must continue our efforts to bridge the HIV treatment gap. The funding for HIV/AIDS must be increased!
