The exceptional generosity of MSF's supporters around the world has allowed us to suspend our appeal for funds for the work in the tsunami affected areas.
MSF has sent over 200 volunteers and more than 2,000 metric tons of supplies to the region to help people injured by this disaster and those threatened by infectious diseases. The first teams got there within 72 hours of the wave. But at the moment, these emergency operations in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India do have enough money to do the work that is necessary.
So we have suspended our online donation page for the Indian Ocean Floods Disaster Appeal. And we are no longer seeking gifts by post or telephone.
At the same time, we would like you to consider a donation to our medical work in other parts of the world. We depend on public help to allow us to respond quickly in so many places - just as we have in this latest disaster.
If you would like to make a gift to support our work with victims of conflicts, epidemics, and disasters across the world, we would be most grateful. It is the committed support of individuals, including monthly donations by direct debit, that enables us to reach our patients.
Thank you from all of us here at MSF and our medical volunteers around the world
Supporting MSF
MSF relies on donations from the public for two key reasons: to ensure the freedom to provide humanitarian assistance whenever and wherever it is needed, and to remain independent from political, religious and economic interests.
As a donor to MSF you are as important to our mission as our field volunteers. Once you have made a gift to MSF we will not bombard you with appeals, or allow any other organisation to have access to your details.
MSF's greatest need is for committed long term support, through monthly giving.
Regular donations give MSF the freedom to provide medical aid to those who need it most and allow us to react swiftly to emergencies as soon as they occur.
To make a direct debit or cash payment or if you would like to make an online credit or debit card gift to the work of MSF please go to our donations page.
If you would prefer to send a donation by post to the UK office, our address is as follows:-
Medecins Sans Frontieres

Raising money for MSF
More and more people are choosing to raise money for MSF while taking up a personal challenge, from running their first marathon to climbing a mountain. By inviting your friends to sponsor you, you will multiply the value of your support and help us achieve even more for populations in danger.
The good news is: you don't have to be an athlete to take part, and sponsorship is much easier to collect than you may think. People are raising money for MSF in all sorts of ways – from weddings to memorials – and many choose to do it the easy way: on the Internet. Take a look at our fundraising site.
Keeping in touch
Our quarterly newsletter Dispatches is sent to MSF's volunteer doctors, nurses and other specialists, together with our UK donors. We try hard to make Dispatches both accessible and informative, and we would like to send it you as well, should you decide to support our work.
