For the ninth time in a decade, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Colombia have made MSF’s "top ten list of unreported humanitarian stories". The list, released by MSF every year, highlights humanitarian crises largely ignored by the world’s media and includes stories of people struggling to survive violence, forced displacement and disease.
Colombia and the DRC, both countries suffering from decades of internal conflict, are joined by Sri Lanka, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Central African Republic, Chechnya and Myanmar on the list. The ongoing toll of medical catastrophes like tuberculosis and childhood malnutrition are also highlighted.
The list draws attention to the most unreported crises, but they are far from the only stories that go untold. MSF provides medical aid in over 60 countries and continues to raise awareness of the hardships facing our patients in many of the places where we work.
