In Mathare, a poor area on the outskirts of Nairobi, MSF treats children with tuberculosis (TB). Just diagnosing them is extremely challenging, as a lack of research on the disease has meant that the main diagnostic tool for the adult form of the disease is 130 years old, and is not at all adapted for use with children.
