Niger is once again facing a significant nutritional crisis: more than 1,500,000 children will suffer from severe malnutrition in the country this year. MSF has bolstered its curative programs in the Tahoua, Maradi, Zinder and Agadez regions, and by the end of July, 65,000 children had been admitted to these programmes. MSF has also begun distributing nutrient-rich food supplements to prevent malnutrition: more than 120,000 children between the ages of six months and two years old will receive this food during this most difficult period of the year.
