Dr Melanie Rosenvinge took a year out from her job as an HIV specialist in London to work with MSF in Zimbabwe. She was based in Epworth, a township on the outskirts of the capital, Harare, where an estimated 20 to 25% of the people are HIV positive. Here she recounts some of the highs and lows of working in an environment of utter poverty where there's a very real lack of medical care.
