Frontline podcast: MSF returns to Mongolia

Date Published: 09/03/2011 12:59

This week's podcast looks at the progress being made in Mongolia following MSF's return to the country after a ten-year absence. In 2001 the last project was handed over to local partners, but in 2009 Mongolia suffered one of its harshest winters with temperatures of -40 to -50 degress. One project is already underway, in Uvs in the northwest of Mongolia, a province where around 70 per cent of the area's 80,000 people were affected by the harsh winter conditions. Further projects are also being planned in other areas of the country to try and make healthcare services available for sections of the population that are currently excluded.
