Mon, 17/11/2014 - 22:30

On Monday, 17th November, Medécins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders’ (MSF) work fighting Ebola will be featured on Panorama, the BBC’s leading current affairs programme.

The documentary follows MSF UK doctor Javid Abdelmoneim as he spends a month working at MSF's Kailahun Ebola management centre in Sierra Leone.

You can now watch the documentary on BBC iPlayer

Exclusive footage

As journalists are forbidden from entering the high risk zone, Javid and other staff filmed their work on specially adapted 'gogglecams'. The cameras had to be dunked in a high concentration of chlorine after each appearance in the high-risk zone.

The exclusive footage reveals the sadness, frustration and moments of joy experienced by MSF expatriates and Sierra Leonean staff as they fight the disease which has claimed the lives of almost 5,000 people to date.

This landmark production is the result of a unique collaboration between MSF UK, the BBC and production company Blakeway. The result is a fascinating insight into the realities of working in a physically and emotionally demanding medical emergency and we urge you to watch it.
