Over the past ten years a range of private, for-profit, military and security companies (PSCs) have become involved in supporting humanitarian, reconstruction and development aid. They provide security-services, risk-management and training to non-governmental as well as state-run aid agencies and the extension of these activities to the physical delivery of assistance remains a real possibility. This discussion evening will focus on the potential contribution and impact of PSCs on humanitarians and humanitarian work.
