The BMJ Christmas Appeal for MSF

The British Medical Journal supports the BMJ MSF Appeal

Last year, the BMJ appeal raised £15,000 to support MSF's work overseas.

Private donations like these are so important, not only to fund our medical work, but also to ensure our neutrality and to guarantee access to those in the greatest need in places where, often, no-one else is willing or able to go.

To donate to the appeal, please click here. Your generosity helps us to continue our life-saving work around the world.

The photo below shows an MSF doctor examining a child at an MSF ward in the Mardan Medical Complex in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, where more than two million people have been displaced since fighting started (photo by Marta Ramoneda, June 2009). Her work there is one example of the massive variety of emergency medical work that thousands of MSF doctors, surgeons, anaesthetists and other medical staff have committed themselves to providing for MSF patients in more than 60 countries worldwide during 2009.

The photos below are taken from throughout the year and highlight some of the work that medical volunteers have done for MSF and for the people we care for. Thank you for making this possible.
