Glastonbury Festival, The Common

Like nothing seen before from a charity at a UK festival

Rising from the epicentre of the Haiti earthquake, MSF Live is a groundbreaking charity venue in this year's most talked about field at Glastonbury Festival The Common.

With a spectacular frontage co-designed by Missmanage (Trash City), the venue will tell the story of MSF’s frontline work through groundbreaking installations, including:

  • An emergency operating theatre converted from a shipping container

  • An interactive cholera treatment centre

  • Haitian graffiti

  • Photo exhibitions

Visit MSF's emergency response in Haiti... at Glastonbury

Innovative, inspiring and educational, the venue’s unique live exhibition comes to life on ‘The Trail’ – inviting festival-goers to explore the story of MSF’s frontline work in Haiti through cutting-edge installations.

The Trail’s focal point is the cholera treatment centre; imported from Paris to Glastonbury, as used in Haiti.

People can sanitise their feet, seek respite on treatment beds and interact with iPads screening MSF videos and chat to MSF staff, many of whom have worked in Haiti.

Also on The Trail, a dimly lit freight container hospital will immerse audiences in the pioneering ways MSF build temporary health structures in emergency situations like the Haiti earthquake.

Graffiti

The backdrop to this intimate acoustic venue is influenced by famous pieces from renowned Haitian graffiti artist, Jerry Moise Rosembert.

Painted by top London graffiti artists 284 Crew (London West Bank), the unique urban art canvas will tell a story of Haiti’s turbulent history.

Music from Lyrix Organix

MSF Live’s venue will explode into colour with music workshops, MSF talks and an eye-watering line-up of secret gigs from UK's finest acoustic artists – courtesy of pioneering live music afficianados Lyrix Organix.

The real achievement of this ambitious project – from performers to set-design – is that the vision is being realised at minimal or no cost to MSF.

This hugely ambitious project has been made possible through the generosity of an incredible team of specialists (at minimal or no cost to the charity); including MSF logisticians, live music programmers, festival production teams, workshop leaders, set-designers and film-makers.

Many high-profile musicians, bands and DJ’s have also come together to show their support for MSF with the aim of reaching new, younger demographics who may be unaware of MSF’s amazing work.
