Live African music fund-raiser in Manchester
Manchester’s most explosive West African music collective, Drumroots, will proudly celebrate Black History Month, while raising funds for Médecins Sans Frontières.
Following a series of sell out concerts, the collective’s next music event, Drumroots Live on Friday 28th October, also coincides with Drumroots fifth anniversary.

The recently refurbished and atmospheric 17th century Platt Chapel will be the venue for a range of spellbinding performances from the diverse musical traditions of Senegal, Guinea, Gambia and The Ivory Coast.
Joanna Huddart of Drumroots said: “We’re excited to build upon our previous live event success to benefit MSF.
Outstanding line up
"An outstanding line up of West African musicians, including Tanante with Iya Sako & Sidiki Dembele, Maitre Samsou, The Kajamor Family and Vieux Bakayoko, are all kindly offering their time and energy to raise money for people living in the world’s largest refugee camp, Dadaab, in Kenya, East Africa, sheltering hundreds of thousands of people fleeing conflict and severe drought in Somalia.
"We hope Manchester will show its generous heart on 28th October, whilst taking pride in Black History Month and joining Drumroots fifth anniversary celebrations.”
Experience this powerful showcase of West African music and take positive action for East Africa.
